Please join us to help us make final preparations for the Earth Day Celebration. Volunteers are still needed for Thursday and Friday to prepare for the weekend, to make signs, posters, and to pick-up and drop off supplies as well as to set-up and clean-up daytime and evening events on Saturday.

Daytime Program Volunteer Opportunities
1. Making and Serving the Free Pancake Breakfast (breakfast starts at 8am)
2. Making and Serving the paid Lunch (soup, wraps, cookies, local teas and water)
3. Bake Sale (a group of people to bake and others to sell baked goods. Perhaps a Seniors Group, a Youth Group or the Rotary Club would like to offer this and keep the proceeds for their group)
4. Food Clean-up Crew
5. Cashiers for Lunch
Tasks to prepare ahead of time for the Daytime Events
1. Help with various set-up and tasks throughout the day- morning and afternoon people needed
2. Door People and Donation Collection
3. Putting up Posters around town
4. Make Signs and Banners – people wanting to be creative
5. Organizers for an Earth Day Walk or Run Sponsorship
6. Collect resources to be displayed on the resources table
7. Man the resources table
8. Make calls to potential volunteers
9. Kids Activities - Organizers - to put together a schedule of children’s activities and make arrangements for art supplies, clown, magician and prizes, fun Earth Day Friendly kids films, etc. Organize an Earth Day Logo drawing table where kids can draw what they think an Earth Day Logo should include or look like and submit their name once for a draw of prizes for participating. We are considering creating a collage style logo made from some of the kids logo’s submitted from this day for next year’s Earth Day Logo. Logo will be put up on walls throughout the day to display their art and ideas for a logo. (Note: all the Children’s Logo’s will be taken to the Dance Hall at Central School and put up for Display for the evening dance.
10. Seeking Performers for Kids; and people who would like to sing songs or tell stories with children

12. Clean-up Crew- needed at 5pm
Tasks to be carried out on during the day of the event:
1. Help with setting up the daytime events
2. Truck and Person for 7:30 am- to pick up and deliver tables and tents for street vendors and who will be setting up about 8:30am outside to sell locally made goods.
3. Truck and Person for 5pm to move tables and pick up more tables to deliver to the Central School to set-up the Community Dance- need to be all set up by 6:00pm
4. Organizers at the Earth Day Walk or Run at 7:30 am at Lakeside Park
5. Help Musicians with Music Equipment and set-up
6. Set up Kids activity area
7. Work with and monitor Kids
8. Introduce Kids Activities and ensure Kids schedule runs smooth
Evening Community Dance Volunteer Opportunities
1. Seeking Dance groups or individuals who want to perform at the dance
2. Make Decorations for the Concert/Dance at the Central School Gym– creative decorations that celebrate the Earth and the creativity of people; we hope these decorations will be made with natural things from the earth and used or recycled goods – like pine cones, branches, cloth, used and recycled paper and plastic, wreaths made from willow or other plants; etc., etc…
3. Local Music for Sale: people who are familiar with local musicians to collect and organize local music that will be for sale at the dance; Also, people to man the music table, sell the local music and keep track of sales
4. Help with putting out snacks and refreshments.
5. Find Boot racks or think of other ideas for people to store their outdoor shoes and boots
Help needed on April 25th to get Dance Hall ready and to help during the dance
1. All afternoon - People to help decorate the dance hall at the Central School Gym
2. Set-up tables and chairs
3. Set-up Music Equipment during the day
4. Someone to put up all the Children’s Earth Day Logos that were made throughout the day – put up between 5:00pm and 6:30 pm
5. Door People and Cashiers at the Dance – in shifts, so everyone can enjoy the night
